We will no longer be producing Nature Body sunscreen products. Unlike Australia, there's no mandatory standard for sunscreen products in New Zealand. We at Nature Body believe there should be, especially considering 90.000 New Zealanders are treated for skin cancer every year.
Nature Body sunscreens are rich in zinc oxide and we are confident in their performance, however we have made the decision to discontinue these products until mandatory standards and testing are established in Aotearoa.
We know that many people love using Nature Body sunscreen so are offering our (limited) remaining stock.
A beautifully smooth and creamy natural sunscreen for the whole family to use, stays on in water.
This
sunscreen uses zinc oxide as well as natural oils. Zinc oxide is a powdered mineral
that sits on top of the skin, scattering, reflecting and absorbing UVA
& UVB rays. It is an effective way to help protect your
skin from the sun's
rays as it provides broad UV protection and is not absorbed into your
body (unlike petroleum-based sunscreen chemicals). It sits on the top of
your skin where it needs to be, effectively providing a layer of protection against damaging UV rays.
We
use non-nano, un-coated zinc oxide that is not absorbed into the
bloodstream, or cause any damage to you or our ocean creatures.
Our sunscreen is tinted with organic carob and cacao.
I have tried your sunscreen and love it. So light and not greasy - Jess Chesney
Reapplication is important with any sunscreen, so ensure you reapply regularly!
Sunscreen Testing: Each country has their own testing methods and regulations. At present New Zealand has none and sunscreens are not
required to be tested. If a sunscreen from New Zealand is to be tested is has
to go to an Australian institute, which can be very costly. At Nature
Body we have tested
it on the Nature Body team and whanau over several years.
The product was used on an entire family for several years, from young baby to adult. Some
of them are fair skinned and some of them more olive skinned. They did not suffer from sunburn once when the sunscreen was applied. In fact it was really obvious if they accidentally missed a spot!
We
recommend common sense around the sun also! Seek
shade as much as possible between 10am and 4pm and cover up with clothes
and a hat. Re-apply sunscreen every two hours, and after getting
out of water.
"Love the sunscreen with insect repellent! One of my kiddos has the most sensitive skin (it’s also beautiful and feels like silk) and gets hives from life. His skin doesn’t react at all!" - Sarah Rossiter
"I bought your sunscreen with insect repellent for my 17 year ok to go to Samoa. She was hesitant at first because it was natural, I was pleased she told me it was fantastic and worked great! And it was lovely to put on skin ! Thanks Nature Body" - Kim
